Dave McDowell from FSB Tech on Performance Betting

Podcast by Ronan Tighe

This week I met up with Dave McDowell at his sunny office in Bloomsbury, London. Dave has been setting up companies since 1993 and entered the gaming industry in 2000 when he co-founded GameAccount. He set up FSB Tech in 2007 with Sam Lawrence, a colleague at GameAccount. FSB Tech is a new B2B software provider that are offering something interesting and a little different. After analysing the products that were currently available to users, they spotted an area that has to date not been exploited; the ability to bet on individual players performance.

I talked with Dave about FSB’s different products and how they can be integrated into operators sites. We also discussed the challenges of bringing a new product to the market and the current experience offered to users by online sportsbooks. FSB Tech has recently received funding from Mark Blandford, founder of Sportingbet and Andrew Black, co-founder of Betfair so it’s definitely a company to watch out for going forward.

Fredrik Osterberg from Evolution on Live Gaming

Podcast by Ronan Tighe

This week I’m joined by Fredrik Osterberg, Sales and Marketing Director, Evolution Gaming. Evolution has been at the forefront of the live gaming scene in Europe since launching their studio operations in Riga in 2006. Fredrick has been with Evolution since its launch, having previously founded Live-Gamble in 2001. He is vastly experienced in the live gaming space.

I talked to him about the recent growth in live gaming in Europe especially amongst high rollers. We also had an in depth discussion, about the innovations within the sector that will open up the product to mass market players who are more used to softer casino games, such as ‘Deal or No Deal’.

I think the trend towards live gaming is going to continue, especially if companies like Evolution are able to open up the space to mass market players will also ensuring that the games are scalable for the big operators.
