We have pledged to respect the privacy of visitors to our site and have signed-up to the Web Analytics Association’s Code of Ethics.
What information we collect and why
We only store personally identifiable information (PII) that you have explicitly submitted to us when:
- Signing up to our monthly newsletter;
- Requesting a White Papers;
- Using the Contact Us form.
We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use our site. We use this tracking technology on every page of our website to anonymously tracking navigation and content usage.
You can opt-out of this tracking by installing a browser plug-in supplied by Google – details can be found here.
We also log client IP address (a number that uniquely identifies a specific computer or computer network) to help investigate malicious or disruptive behaviour and to help understand the rough location of visitors (City and Country only) to the site.
Surveys
We occasionally run surveys on this site. When we present an invite to participate in a survey we will set a cookie on your machine so that the invite is only shown once. If you delete the cookies, then the invite will be shown again as the site will treat you as a new visitor. We will also set an anonymous but unique cookie ID which will allow us to count unique responses to the survey.
Newsletter & White papers
We use MailChimp for our newsletter and when you sign-up you submit your email address via a form on the Foviance website. Your email address is currently sent as clear text and is added to the monthly Foviance newsletter distribution list stored by MailChimp. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe from newsletter’ link at the bottom of each newsletter. Details of MailChimp’s privacy policy can be found here.
If you request one of our White Papers, we ask for additional information to allow us to follow up on the requested paper. This information is sent to us via email as clear text and is only used by our account managers to deliver the requested paper and to recommend services that might be of interest. If you have any questions regarding the white papers or wish to have you contact details removed from our database please contact us.
