Architectural site map

An Architectural Site Map (also known as ‘flow diagram’, ‘process map’, and ‘site map’) provides the overall structure and organisation of a website or application. It visualises the high level information and interaction architecture in terms of levels of navigation, content deployment, information labelling structure, and (in the case of applications) the process flows (complete with success and error pages).

A site map is useful because it can:
- Lay out the information architecture of a site/application.
- Provide the framework upon which to base site/application navigation.
